OFFICIAL SHOPIFY PARTNER · PLATFORM MIGRATION

Move from WooCommerce to Shopify,
and leave server and plugin maintenance behind.

On WordPress and WooCommerce, you manage the server, plugins and security updates yourself; on Shopify, hosting and platform updates are Shopify's responsibility. We read your products, blog content, and customer and order data through the WooCommerce and WordPress REST APIs, redirect your old URLs with 301s and set up Shopify equivalents for your plugins.

WHY SHOPIFY?

WooCommerce is flexible,
but the upkeep is all on you.

Server and hosting

Your hosting plan, backups, PHP version and whether capacity will hold up on campaign days are your responsibility. On Shopify, hosting, SSL and platform updates are managed by Shopify, and your store is served through a content delivery network operated by Cloudflare.

Plugin chain

Every need, such as payments, shipping, SEO, caching and forms, is met by a separate plugin, and an update to one plugin can conflict with the others. On Shopify, some of these needs are built into the platform; we cover the rest with apps or with apps we build specifically for you.

Security updates

The WordPress core, theme and plugins need to be updated regularly; a neglected update can leave the site open to attacks. On Shopify, Shopify takes care of platform security, and the checkout runs on Shopify's PCI DSS-compliant infrastructure.

Speed and campaign days

On WooCommerce, speed depends on tasks that need constant attention, such as caching, image compression and database cleanup. On Shopify, images are optimised automatically, and you don't need separate server planning for heavy traffic on campaign days.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A MIGRATION

What moves, what doesn't,
and what gets rebuilt?

We go through every part of the migration up front, so there are no surprises.

DataStatusDetails
Products, variations and imagesMigratedRead via the WooCommerce REST API; variable products become options and variants on Shopify. Because a product on Shopify can have at most three options, we restructure products with more attributes together with you.
Categories and tagsMigratedProduct categories become collections; tags are kept and can be used in the conditions of automated collections.
Custom fieldsMigratedExtra information you've added to products, such as ingredients, measurements or usage instructions, is moved to metafields on Shopify and displayed neatly on the product page.
Customer recordsMigratedTransferred via the API along with address details; after launch, your customers access their accounts with the same email address.
Customer passwordsNot migratedWordPress stores passwords in a form that can't be reversed, so they can't be migrated. Nor is there any need: Shopify's new customer accounts don't use passwords, and your customers sign in with a one-time code sent to their email address.
Order historyMigratedMigrated and matched to product and customer records; we keep notifications turned off during the transfer so that no emails go out to your customers.
Blog posts and pagesMigratedRead via the WordPress REST API and recreated on Shopify as blog posts and pages. Shortcodes and page builder sections don't work on Shopify, so they are rebuilt with theme sections.
Product reviewsMigratedReview records in WooCommerce are read via the API and imported into the review app you'll use on Shopify, matched to products.
Old URLsMapped with 301sWooCommerce's /product/ and /product-category/ URLs (or Turkish-localized ones such as /urun/) and blog URLs change; each one is linked to its /products/, /collections/ or /blogs/ equivalent on Shopify with a permanent 301 redirect.
Theme and designRebuilt on ShopifyA WordPress theme can't be moved to Shopify; your store is built by customising a ready-made theme or with a custom theme made for you.
Plugins, payment, shipping and e-invoicing connectionsRebuilt on ShopifyCaching, security and backup plugins are no longer needed on Shopify. The others are replaced by ready-made apps or by Shopify apps we build specifically for you.
PROCESS

A step-by-step,
transparent migration.

At the end of each step you see what's ready, and we move on with your approval.

  1. 01Site inventory and analysis

We extract every URL in your sitemap, your installed plugins, the attributes of your variable products and the pages that bring in traffic in Search Console. We share the scope and a clear timeline with you after the analysis.

  2. 02API connection

We connect to your store using API keys created in the WooCommerce settings with read-only access. Blog posts and pages are read in the same flow through the WordPress REST API.

  3. 03Product and content structure

We map variations to Shopify's option structure, categories to collections and custom fields to metafields. We convert content sections built with shortcodes into theme sections.

  4. 04Design and apps

We build your store by customising a ready-made theme or with a custom theme made for you. We go through your plugin list one by one, choose the apps you actually need, and configure the payment, shipping and e-invoicing connections.

  5. 05Transfer and 301 redirects

We write products first, then customers and finally orders through the Shopify Admin API. We create the redirects from the mapping table and rerun the transfer to pick up changes made up to launch day.

  6. 06Testing, launch and monitoring

We test the payment, shipping and notification flow with real orders and connect the domain. Because images are read from your WordPress server, we keep the old site live until the checks are complete, and after launch we monitor traffic and 404 reports.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions
on your mind.

Will my Google rankings be affected when I move from WooCommerce to Shopify?+

The goal is to complete the migration without any lasting loss. Because Shopify's URL structure is fixed, your product, category and blog URLs will change; we list every URL that brings in traffic beforehand and redirect each one to its new equivalent with a 301. Page titles and meta descriptions from your SEO plugin are carried over too. There may be short-term fluctuations while Google crawls the new URLs; we monitor this period closely with Search Console data.

Can I move my WordPress blog too?+

Yes. We transfer your posts, with their images, titles and meta descriptions, into Shopify's blog structure and redirect the old post URLs to their new URLs under /blogs/ with 301s. Shortcodes and page builder components don't work on Shopify, so we rebuild those sections with theme sections. This is also how we handled the product and content transfer when we moved Hoito and Nut Ordinary from WooCommerce to Shopify.

Are there Shopify equivalents for the plugins I use?+

For most of them, yes, and some aren't needed at all. Caching, security and backups are handled by Shopify's infrastructure, and the sitemap and robots.txt are generated automatically. For needs such as reviews, loyalty, email and multiple languages we choose apps, and for processes with no ready-made solution we build a custom Shopify app for you. Rather than installing a one-to-one app for every plugin, we choose only what you really need.

What will we use instead of my payment, shipping and e-invoicing plugins?+

Shopify Payments isn't available to stores based in Türkiye, so we connect local payment providers such as iyzico or PayTR to your store and clarify your instalment and 3D Secure requirements from the start. We set up shipping and e-invoicing connections with ready-made apps, and those without a ready-made solution with Shopify apps we build specifically for you.

Will my customers have to sign up again?+

No. Your customer records and order history are migrated. WordPress passwords can't be migrated, but because Shopify's new customer accounts don't use passwords, there's no need: your customers access their accounts with a one-time code sent to their email address.

What happens to my coupon codes and promotions?+

We read your active coupon codes from WooCommerce and recreate them in Shopify's discount structure. We check rules such as usage limits, minimum cart value and product conditions one by one; for setups with no direct equivalent on Shopify, we choose a suitable app or a custom solution together.

How long does a WooCommerce to Shopify migration take?+

The timeline depends on the number of products and variations, restructuring products with more than three attributes, the volume of blog content to be moved, matching plugins with apps and the scope of the design. We don't give a timeframe without reviewing your site; after the analysis we give you a clear timeline.

When should I shut down my WordPress site and hosting plan?+

Because images and content are read from your old server, we recommend not shutting down the site until the transfer and redirect checks are complete. Once the new store has settled in, you can take a full backup of the database and files and end your hosting; you may still need the old order records for a while for accounting and returns.
